The midterm take-home exam provides an opportunity to assess your progress so far as a self-motivating professional.

DUE WEDNESDAY, October 20 (section 1) or THURSDAY, October 21 (section 2) at the beginning of class


Professional Blog (p. 3)
Be sure to include links, photos, videos
· Blog entry #1: Reflections on Sean McPherson
· Blog entry #2: Reflections on Dessa
· Blog entry #3: Reflections on Johnny Bunko and Art & Fear


Professional Music Resume (p. 20)
· One-page resume (edited version 2), appropriately formatted. This is a draft, but should be complete except for edits.


Bio #1 (p. 21)
· One basic, informational or press bio of about ½ page

Goals Statement (p. 19)
· Minimum of 3 goals (one can be your senior recital) with thorough strategies for attaining the goals (including dates).
· Format may be the version in the CaLM book or ‘mind map’ style or whatever format is clear and works well for you.

Cover Letter (p. 22)
· Draft of basic cover letter for a ‘real’ need or opportunity.
· Follow the guidelines


Circle Building Project (p. 1) and Self-Assessment
1. Brief summary (about ½ page, single spaced) of your progress to date on the Circle Building project. Include some examples of people you’ve added to your list. Also talk about the organizational system(s) you have chosen and how those are working for you.

2. Write an additional ½ page summarizing your work in CaLM so far. Are you keeping up with assignments and deadlines? Are you going beyond the minimum requirements in any ways? How? How are your views of a professional career in music being reinforced? Changed? How will you approach the rest of the semester and your immediate post-graduation planning? Do you have questions? Concerns? Ideas or requests?
